Asus has extended their the G series of laptops devoted to gaming, the G71Gx this is based on the Intel Centrino 2 platform that works with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M GPU. These machine are great workhorses and as they are directed at gamers who do tend to be a little more rough with their computers than the average user.

However, a company like Acer cannot just sit back they had big plans for this company and with the re-launch they are introducing some great models. The MacBook Pro series will now include a faster model and new chip options and larger solid state drives (SSD). The fifteen inch MacBook Pro will get a 2.66 Ghz processor as standard, although this could be upgraded to a 2.93 GHz chip for around $300.

Tablet PC’s are a strange item, they look cool and seem to be ok for people who are doing some sort of work that requires the user to have a free hand etc, but in the real world is a tablet ever going to take the place of a desktop PC or laptop? It is doubtful but the Korean based maker Wacom are going to have a good try at it.
