Take a look a look at this laptop, it is from China and carries a price tag of around $340, which is not too bad for a 14 inch laptop offering a 1.8GHz dual core Intel Atom D525 CPU and NVIDIA ION 2 graphics. However, it is all down hill from there as the specs will show, in fact the rest of the machine has the look of a netbook. These are the features and specs for this fourteen inch laptop, with the features of a netbook; 14 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, it will be running a 1.8 GHz dual core Intel Atom D525 processor along with the NVIDIA ION 2 graphics. It also comes with a reasonable 2 GB of DDR2 memory, a 320 GB hard drive, HDMI output and with no DVD burner. The low capacity 2400mAh battery is not going to be up to much either. Priced at around $340 Source [Eee PC] a 14" Laptops, chinese brand, laptop, netbook
a

The worse thing about finding a new machine on the market is that lack of information that is around and this is what has happened with the MSI X400 a fourteen inch slim laptop. From the images the laptop has a nice look to it, is has great lines and fantastic design. The information will be coming out as soon as the machine goes on show at the 2009 Computex in Taipei in Taiwan. HP claim that the overall performance of the machine is going to be by around fifty seven per cent, in fact on this machine it can run at around six times as fast. Source [Aving] a 14" Laptops, 24 hours, battery, elitebook, hp, HP Laptops
a

The main thing about the P80 from Asus is the fact that it comes with the brand new anti theft system from Intel. This is the technology that allows the user to remotely shut down the computer if it has been stolen, means that the machine cannot be used by the thief. Whether or not that is going to stop someone from stealing the computer who knows, there are probably people right now working on a way around it. Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo or Pentium CPU Up to 4GB of DDR2 memory Up to 320GB of hard drive space A DVD burner The P80A and P80Q models include the Intel GMA X4500MHD (with HD decoder) X4500M integrated graphics respectively The P80Vc has the NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS 512MB dedicated GPU 14 inch 1366 × 768 anti-glare LED backlight displays with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
A lot of people like to put a cover on their laptops these days, it serves two purposes, first up it makes the laptop to cool as you have added your own individuality to it and secondly the cover protects the surface of the computer and so when you are looking to sell it on its is pretty good shape. These cover are from the London based Wrappz, they also produce covers for iPods, games consoles and other devices. However, what makes these covers so great is that they can be easily removed and used again if the user wants to. The company have plenty of designs to choose from, but for people who want to be really independent you can produce your own design. Source [Crunch Gear] a 14" Laptops, 15" Laptops, 16" Laptops, design source, games consoles, individuality, laptop, laptops, london
a

This is cool laptop that is light, slim and runs on Vista home basic, it has some nice features for a 14.1 inch display model, such as silver flashes along the front edge. There are only two USB ports, which is slightly disappointing, but what can you do. Features: This desktop features 2GB of DDR2 system memory enough to handle everyday computing needs. DDR2 is slightly faster than DDR, the previous standard in system memory. AMD employs HyperTransport technology, which works like a fully integrated front side bus that increases bandwidth, reduces bottlenecks and enables processors to work more efficiently. The end result is better performance. Processors search for the same data over and over. L2 caches keep this data neat, organized, and nearby so it can be retrieved more quickly. This 512KB L2 cache gives the processor a little boost. Priced at $430 Source [Cheap Laptops] a 14" Laptops, cheap laptops, emachine, eMachines Laptops, front side bus, laptop, usb ports
a

This laptop is a cross between the fifteen inch Studio 15 and the 13.3 inch Studio XPS 13, but do not hold that against it, because although Dell machines are not the highlight of the laptop world for some people these new machines are well worth a look. As with most Dell’s there is the option to take this laptop to the limit with a 4 Gb worth of RAM and if required a dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450. Clearly, there is a 14.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800; this is also backlit, which is convenient. Priced at around $700 Source [Trusted Reviews] [Gallery] a 14" Laptops, ati mobility, Dell Laptops, dell machines, gb, hd, highlight, laptop, mobility radeon
a

The Lenovo Thinkpad is one of those laptops that really bridges the spectrum when it comes to cost and specs. The Thinkpad T400 is right in the middle of it all with a modest internal setup that’s great for business or heavier home computing, which should be expected for around $1,400 to $1,600. Right off the bat, the T400 offers one huge perk in switchable graphics, which means this machine can speed up your day to day computing and save battery life on the go with it’s lower power Intel GMA graphics set. But you won’t sacrifice higehr end video and graphics with the ATI Mobility Radeon setup wunning in sync with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.53 GHz. Not too shabby. But, of course, all this bulky internal work brings up the weight. And, Lenovo hasn;t really caught on to the design trend. So, if you don’t mind a heavier, less attractive laptop for work, the T400 is perfect. But, for more specilaized home laptoping and for those with a design flair, keep looking, as there isn;t anything here you can;t find elsewhere.
eMachines have always been the low-cost alternative. But now with netbooks flooding the market, eMachines needs to step up its game. So, the company is releasing a full sized laptop for less than $400. Is the eMD620 woth it? Let’s see. As a Best Buy exclusive, this notebook is subpar. An Athlon 2650e with 1.6 GHz won’t get you very far in the office of on the net and the low 1 GB of RAM will surely lead to slowdown within a year. Plus, the little thing us pretty ugly, sports low battery life and only has two USB ports. Overall you are looking at a bad netbook with the only advantage being a bigger screen. Why not go buy a real netbook insted? There is no reaosn for this laptop to exist. Boo.
The counter-intuitive little brother to the Lenovo Thinkpad SL300, the Thinkpad SL400 offers some solid specs, but it might not be worth the trouble required to bring this $600 laptop up to snuff, and up to price, at slightly above $1000. Because the Thinkpad has become pretty standard across the board, you still get the Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.26 GHz, and the non-too shabby NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS graphics setup for lighter, old-school gaming. But, what you don’t get is style or power. The SL400 is a sloppy looking standard laptop, and the smaller battery needs upgrading to a 9-cell, which adds to the price and the weight. Plus, the WiFi is dreadfully out of style, only supporting 802.11 a. Overall, this little laptop isn’t up to snuff in features. If you want a cheap laptop for casual business or home use, go with a netbook. If you want to have a desktop replacement, go with something more serious, because if you don’t you will end up adding options to this until you wish you would have.
We took a look at the Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402 the other day, so I figured comparing the new Toshiba Satellite M305-S4835 specs might be appropriate. The M305, which runs about $1,050, is almost identical to it’s Best Buy cousin. However, the M305 is set up to be a little more powerful at home. Primarily, the M305 can be used as a home media center, with a nice display size and a reasonable processor setup. From what I can gather though, the M305 is two things; sort of standard and really adequate. And that’s great, right? For a smidgen over $1,000, you should expect a standard, adequate laptop. No frills here, but nothing huge missing, either. And while it’s sorting specs comparable with the more expensive MacBook, PC Magazine seemed unimpressed with the M305 in speed tests, making me wonder if there are better Mac beaters out there. Probably. The specs: Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 Processor Speed: 2 GHz RAM: 4 GB Weight: 5.5 lbs.
