ASUS will be shipping a new Eee PC netbook next year, a 12.1-inch Eee PC 1201N that features Atom Dual Core Processor N330 1.6Ghz with 2GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive, Nvidia ION graphics card, and Windows 7 32-bit. Of course, 12.1-inch laptops are really “laptops” per say, not “netbooks”. (LaptopPimp editors think anything 12 inches and above should be really classified as laptops, not netbooks or mini-notebooks) The new ASUS Eee PC 1201N will certainly be the “fastest” netbook ever. We like the whole thing except if you are going to get a 12-inch laptop, you might as well spend $200-300 more on much faster 13.3-inch ASUS UL30Vt, which boasts much faster processor, 64-bit system, and 4gigs of RAM. (The author of this post is actually using an ASUS UL30Vt to write this very blog post at the local McDonald’s.) And, of course, there’s the ASUS UL20A-A1, which boasts faster processor too but the new 1201N might overcome graphic capabilities with its Nvidia ION graphics card. (So our recommendation is to get the 1201N or UL30Vt.)be I am sure ASUS will be launching other smaller netbooks next year but if you can’t wait, you can be one of the … Continue reading →
a

ASUS U20 (or UL20) 12.1″ laptop is one of the most versatile laptops you can get for the money. Currently the U20 comes with an array of options such as a long battery life of 7.5 hours, 1.3GHz Intel SU7300 Core 2 Duo Processor, and 2GB or 4GB of memory depending on which model you get. On Amazon, there’s two models ASUS U20A-A1($569.99) and ASUS U20A-B2($969.03). The basic difference in price range comes down to hard disk space and memory size. The UL20A-A1 comes with 2GB of memory and 250GB of harddisk space while the UL20A-B2 comes with 4GB of memory and 320GB of harddisk. For what it’s worth I would rather get the UL20A-A1 and add additional memory plus external hard drive if needed. It seems like a much better value for your money. Of course, if you are willing to spare a bit bigger screen, you might want to go with the ASUS UL30 series, which comes with an 8-cell battery with 12-16 hours of battery life. As a current owner of an ASUS Eee PC, I can tell you these ASUS laptops are well worth it for the money and the long-life of its batteries over others … Continue reading →
a

Currently I use an Eee PC 1000HE, (as I write this blog post itself), and the 10-inch netbook is great but over the last 6 months of use, I have found that its Atom N280 CPU and 1024×600 resolution screen isn’t going to cut it for me to work with it on a daily basis. For that, I have been searching for a slightly bigger netbook such as the ASUS 1101HA, which boasts an Atom Z520 1.33Ghz processor with 1366 x 768 pixel 11.6 inch screen. This one, I have actually tested it out at my local Best Buy. From what I can tell, the screen is much bigger than 1000HE but the problem lies in the processor and memory cannot be upgraded to more than 1GB, a limit on Atom Z520 processors. So, I have opted to go slightly for a bigger netbook, perhaps a 12-inch laptop. But the number one feature is long battery life, at least 5 hours. My current Eee PC is rated at 9.5 hours but lasts about 7.5 hours with full-on blogging. ASUS UL20A 12.1-inch laptop is probably the best 12″ laptop you can get these days with a battery-life of 7.5 hours. This … Continue reading →
a

The computer maker Dospara has just launched a new model called the Prime Note Beatribe, it’s a mini laptop with a twelve inch display that is very useful when using any computer outside or when travelling, the smaller displays are just too small and the fifteen inch plus displays are simply too bulky. This maybe just right under the correct conditions, for the person who needs to be away from home or the office, but has the need to be in touch too. Features: Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66GHz processor 2GB RAM A 350GB hard drive A DVD Super Multi Drive SATA Wi-Fi connectivity A 12.1” LCD display at WXGA resolution Priced at around $550 Source [Tech Fresh] a 12" Laptops, computer maker, dospara, Dospara Laptops, intel core 2, intel core 2 duo, mini laptop, new model, prime note
a

This machine is the natural successor to the Asus N10 the ten inch netbook which had the capability of displaying 3D games and playing back HD video. The N20 has a nice twelve inch display that unlike other machines is touch sensitive so that a stylus and even finger tips. This netbook is going to weigh in at just 1.8 Kg’s and is based on the Intel Core 2 Duo, multi DVD drives, integrated 3G, up to 4 Gb of RAM and with a choice of 250 Gb or 320 Gb of space on the disk. As per normal with these announcements the pricing and availability has been conveniently left out of the marketing material. Source [Cnet] a 12" Laptops, 4 gb, asus, ASUS Netbooks, hd, intel core 2, intel core 2 duo, n20, netbook, stylus
a
