It seems too good to be true, but this is a real machine being offered in China, clearly a clone, but who is going to be complaining when the asking price for this machine is just $76. This laptop comes with a ten inch screen, front facing camera, 4 Gb of Nand Flash memory and is powered by the AMLogic Cortex A9 CPU, it is not going to set the world of computing on fire, but when it comes to value, this is not too bad. The specs claim that it comes with a massive 12000 mAH battery, which by anyones calculations would be good for twenty hours of use. However, for $76 this must be a 1200 mAh battery, which is capable of providing three to four hours of use! Priced at $76 Source [Ubergizmo] a cheap laptop, cloned laptop, Laptop News, Laptop Specs
a

The OCZ Neutrino will be available very very soon at $269, with similar features to many other netbooks such as the Eee PC including but not limited to a mere 2.86 pounds, 10-inch 1024×600 pixel screen, Intel Atom N270 1.6Ghz processor, 512KB L2 cache, Intel 945GSE motherboard, and the rest configurations you get to choose as it’s a “DIY” netbook, first of its kind. I highly do like this laptop since it gives the user flexibility to choose hardware apart from the base hardware. The only thing I am worried is that in my previous 2 HP custom laptops I ordered, they proved to be very faulty as no heat-testing has been done with custom hardware. I suspect this DIY Neutrino netbook will have similar problems with customization but then again, netbooks probably aren’t susceptible to heat problems as their regular counter-part laptop brothers, it’s already been designed to emit less heat and power. My verdict? Get one ASAP as it comes out, looks good. Based on the Intel® Atom™ processor, the 10.1” Neutrino was developed to push the envelope in the growing area of netbooks as the first DIY offering. Proving that good things come in small packages, the … Continue reading →
a

I have to say that after using my Dell Inspiron 1525 for couple months, I highly recommend Dell’s new 1526 series too. Least but not least, Dell as a company have changed their product line drastically over the years through innovative engineering and basically more money in engineering. The Dell Inspiron 1526 features 15.4″ screen with 1280×800 pixel resolution, AMD Turion Dual-Core TL-60 2.0Ghz Processor, 4 gigs of ram, 250GB hard drive, Wifi, Webcam, and 8X DVD Read/Write drive. One thing I’ve noticed on all 1500 series is that it comes with HDMI outputs so you can connect it to your HDTV. Price: $974.99 at Amazon a 15" Laptops, 250gb hard drive, amazon, amd, dell inspiron, Dell Laptops, dual core, gigs, hdtv price, innovative engineering, Laptop News, Laptop Reviews, Laptop Specs, money, pixel resolution, webcam
a

For today’s choice of netbook review worth getting and worth your time, we are going to be recommending the most expensive “blue” Samsung NC10-14GB from Amazon. For all its worth, Samsung has been making laptops for longer than anyone else including both Acer and Aspire. In the past, Samsung has stopped selling their top-of-the-line laptops in America, due to the fact that the market here has fierce competition and the laptops were made, localized to South Koreans, not Americans. Anyways, they are getting back in the U.S. market with these new, sleek netbooks and I am sure you can bet your money on their brand. My dad used to get these netbooks way before they came out in America like 5 years back, I don’t think this is new stuff for Samsung. What I like most about this laptop is the fact that it only weight 2.9 pounds, Windows XP, large 160GB harddrive, and all the network connections. The price might come a little more pricey over other netbooks but I think this laptop will perform to your standards. Get it here on Amazon and SAVE. 10.2″ Wide, 1024 x 600 WSVGA , 220 nits Intel Atom processor N270, 1.6 … Continue reading →
a

It uses a motor array, which vibrate a clear membrane. This new technology has come from Emo Labs, it was shown at the CES in Las Vegas although small it caught the attention of a few people but too many as to make it one of the stars of the show, we have to disagree this is worthy of the publicity. Source [Engadget HD] a ces, Laptop Accessories, laptop speakers, Laptop Specs, las vegas, motor array, new technology, second to none
a

There is a company known as iGo who are about to make a big splash at the forthcoming CES 2009 with a eco friendly charger which is guaranteed to cut back on the power used by the laptops. It is well known that laptop batteries do tend to suck in as much as they can. However, with the iGo Laptop Charger, it uses an auto shut off which prevents this waste of energy. The company say that they can save up to eighty per cent in power use when the machine is left on standby, these do work out at considerable savings. Source [Ars Technica] [Gallery] a ces, igo, Laptop Accessories, Laptop Batteries, Laptop Batteries, Laptop Specs, laptops, savings source, waste of energy
a

If you have and extra $3,200 and the urge to toss your laptop gainst the wall without serious repercussions, the Getec B300 might be for you. Another in the ultra-tough market of laptops, the B300 is pricey for a XP machine. But, you get some pretty strange and wonderful features for all that cash, including a daylight-visable touchscreen, GPS and a fast set of internals running otherwise outdated tech. Basically, that last part translates to a really speedy compurter for what it is. But hoestly, outside of the military and construction sites, does this computer have a place? Not really. Go buy a Toshiba. Operating System: Windows XP Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 Processor Speed:1.6 GHz RAM:2 GB –> 4 GB Weight:7.7 lbs.
The Lenovo Thinkpad is one of those laptops that really bridges the spectrum when it comes to cost and specs. The Thinkpad T400 is right in the middle of it all with a modest internal setup that’s great for business or heavier home computing, which should be expected for around $1,400 to $1,600. Right off the bat, the T400 offers one huge perk in switchable graphics, which means this machine can speed up your day to day computing and save battery life on the go with it’s lower power Intel GMA graphics set. But you won’t sacrifice higehr end video and graphics with the ATI Mobility Radeon setup wunning in sync with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.53 GHz. Not too shabby. But, of course, all this bulky internal work brings up the weight. And, Lenovo hasn;t really caught on to the design trend. So, if you don’t mind a heavier, less attractive laptop for work, the T400 is perfect. But, for more specilaized home laptoping and for those with a design flair, keep looking, as there isn;t anything here you can;t find elsewhere.
There isn’t tons of information out there on the new Asus Eee PC 1002HA, but what we do know is pretty impressive. Starting just under $500, this is one of the first strictly business targeted netbooks. They have a very serious case of MacBook lookalike syndrome, which never hurts. As another note to design, Asus is saying this has a more sizable keyboard. Internally, most the specs are about on par with netbooks, and it adds up to the standard mid-2 pound range for the overall weight. One upgreade is a 160 GB drive and the inclusin of 10 GB of online storage space, which will be the next big trend in computing. This will be a great business netbook, but it’s the tyoe of machine that will be great for the average user, too.
Watch out! This Sony Vaio VGN-TT190 comes with a price — $4,345.00. Yikes! But, is it worth it? Let’s take a look inside and see. This ultraportable is full of great stuff. And, at 2.8 lbs, you aren’t going to find a notebook lighter and more powerful then the VGN-TT190. I sort of wonder how they packed in an optical drive, 11″ display and wireless support, along with a great processor, into under three pounds. Plus, Blu-Ray! Are you kidding me? And while 11 inches might be small, you can use the HDMI-out port to ship your Blu-Ray movies to a big screen. Of course, looks wise, the Sony Vaio line is always stylish. As another bonus, the Intel Core 2 Duo U9400 is a low power processor, saving battery life and not sacrificing run speeds. How cool is that? So, if you want top of the line when it comes to home or business computing, this is definitely the machine for you. Sure, it’s freaking expensive, but it also gives you bragging rights for the next year.
All the U.K. readers out there can get excited about the Asus G71, which is being touted as one of the bast gaming laptops out there. The specs sure make it sound that way. An impressive Intel Core 2 Extreme running at 2.53GHz is more of a desktop processor, so it will provide the power. And the Nvidia Geforce 9700M GPU will power the most recent games just fine. Overall, this is a desktop that you can move around. This is a serious gaming machine and I would be happy to have one to play around with, that’s for sure.
Wow! I first talked about this Bamboo Asus laptop yesterday in the news roundup, and today I wanted to share some of the early specs. I guess this has been out in Taiwan for a while and it will be hitting the U.S. soon. All things considered, this is a massive little machine. The bamboo is more than just gimmick, and I think the specs speak pretty well for themselves. Plus, the bamboo makes this a really green computer. The pandas have been right about the stuff all along. It’s a little over 3 pounds, but has a 12.1″ display, up from the small 10″ displays. If you go to town on this and pick up the best options, you could have a nice looking wooden laptop. I can’t wait to see what pricing is.
The Samsung R610 continues the trend of good looking Samsung laptops. Plus, the $1050 laptop has some great specs to offer for the price. With a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo and 3 GB of RAM, the R610 is a solid home computer. At 6 pounds, it’s amazing the 16 display and internal setup don’t weigh it down more. But, at that size, are we leaving too much of the portability behind? Propably. And that’s the downfall of the R610. Because it’s larger and less portable, it doesnt stand out against otehr 16 inch laptops. It’s middle of the road, at best. But, that isn’t the end for the R610. This is a solid laptop with great design, so it’s worth comparing to your other 16″ choices. Don;t go rush and buy this laptop, but include it in the group to choose from. In the end, you’ll probably go with something else. But this is a good benchmark.
The $1000 Acer Aspire 6930G is a great candidate for a home media machine. Offering an attractive design for an Acer laptop and combining some pretty stellar specs for the price point. The 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor will keep you app switching and the 16″ display and the Nvidia GeForce 9600M will allow for some minor gaming and great movie watching. Even without the Blu-Ray drive, this litlte laptop is powerful enough to get you through for a few more years. A little heavy at 7.2 pounds, the 6930G is a true laptop, so you can expect the full package here. Overall, at under $1000, you won’t beat the Acer for a simple home media machiene. Sure, there are better laptops out there. But this system is ready to go for a good price. If you’re eying it, go ahead and buy.
eMachines have always been the low-cost alternative. But now with netbooks flooding the market, eMachines needs to step up its game. So, the company is releasing a full sized laptop for less than $400. Is the eMD620 woth it? Let’s see. As a Best Buy exclusive, this notebook is subpar. An Athlon 2650e with 1.6 GHz won’t get you very far in the office of on the net and the low 1 GB of RAM will surely lead to slowdown within a year. Plus, the little thing us pretty ugly, sports low battery life and only has two USB ports. Overall you are looking at a bad netbook with the only advantage being a bigger screen. Why not go buy a real netbook insted? There is no reaosn for this laptop to exist. Boo.
The counter-intuitive little brother to the Lenovo Thinkpad SL300, the Thinkpad SL400 offers some solid specs, but it might not be worth the trouble required to bring this $600 laptop up to snuff, and up to price, at slightly above $1000. Because the Thinkpad has become pretty standard across the board, you still get the Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.26 GHz, and the non-too shabby NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS graphics setup for lighter, old-school gaming. But, what you don’t get is style or power. The SL400 is a sloppy looking standard laptop, and the smaller battery needs upgrading to a 9-cell, which adds to the price and the weight. Plus, the WiFi is dreadfully out of style, only supporting 802.11 a. Overall, this little laptop isn’t up to snuff in features. If you want a cheap laptop for casual business or home use, go with a netbook. If you want to have a desktop replacement, go with something more serious, because if you don’t you will end up adding options to this until you wish you would have.
The Gateway P-7811FX is Gateway’s first retail laptop available only through Best Buy. It’s a little older, but I thought it was worth taking a look at because its specs and design are really holding up against some really recent additions to the laptop market. Obviously, just by looking at it, you can see that the 7811FX fits right in with any number of current laptops in the design category. The orange piping is like totally right now. (Sorry.) But beyond looks, who are the specs on this $1,499 laptop? First, the 17-inch screen and the availability of a Blu-Ray drive make this a likely candidate for the center of a home media setup or a first-rate desktop replacement. The internal setup won;t have you gaming anytime soon, but reviews all over the web have found the Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB or Ram and the nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS to be substantial enough to cover your media needs. That includes solid load times for editing programs like After Effect and Photoshop. Overall, this slightly older Gateway notebook might be one of the best choices for the price this holiday season. Just because it’s a few months old, doesn’t … Continue reading →
a

MSI has made some fantastic notebooks, no one can deny that. For instance, the MSI Wind has been one of the most talked about netbooks out there. But when it comes to gaming machines, the Laptop Pimp was wondering how MSI stacks up. For that reason, I wanted to take a look at the MSI GX720, just one of a number of gaming setups from MSI. For starters, the GX720 looks great. The red-orange accents really make the laptop look fast and sleek. And, as it turns out, the speedy look translates to a speedy core, too. With a 2.5 GHz Intel Centrino 2 processor and 4 GB of RAM supporting a nVidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics card, you can’t really complain about speed. But, the Intel processor isn’t from the Extreme line and the graphics setup isn;t top of the line, either. Both are just suitable. And at 7 pounds, the GX720 is a pretty slim 17″ semi-gaming machine. And while this slightly older gamer may not last as a top gaming platform for too long, the media capabilities will keep it relevant for a while. Blue-Ray and HMDI support are present and accounted for. Overall, the GX720 is … Continue reading →
a

A few days back, the Laptop Pimp took a look at the HP Mini 1000 and he was pretty interested in the little netbook from HP. But, will the Vivienne Tam Edition of the Mini 1000 make the cut? Let’s find out. When it comes down to Specs, you are looking at the exact same computer as the normal Mini 100. The $150 price difference between the two machines is a matter of the case. This makes sense, seeing that Tam is a fashion designer, and this edition of the Mini has a beautiful red case with a flower detail. But the Pimp wants to know something. Do people buy it? Is a case worth $150? I mean, the Mini is a slick looking computer to begin with, and the red case is wonderful. But I’m not sure it’s worth the cash. If you are spending money on a netbook, you want a simple computer at a good price. The HP Mini’s $400 price point is perfect, offering a great XP-based system for a price far lower than a number of other netbooks. But, the Tam edition just adds cost for a product you want to be inexpensive to begin … Continue reading →
a

Available for about $484, teh Na01 mini can’t print your photos, but it can display them on a 10.2″ display. Just what we needed, another netbook. I won’t get too much into the specifics, as I doubt too many of the LaptopPimp readers are going to rush out to Japan and pick one of these up.
Ringing in at around $780, the Gateway M-7818u is tricky. It sure looks a lot like the Samsung X460, with its stylish red accents. But, the comparisons stop right there. Beyond a flashy coat, the M-7818u is a clunker. The first thing to realize is that the M-7818u is a special configuration on the Gateway M-series made only for Office Max. Yep. Office Max. Friends, if you are going to Office Max to buy a computer. Well, you shouldn’t be. Before anything else, this is a budget model notebook, and it shows with the specs. While the fairly standard Gateway configuration of nice components make up the heart of the machine — a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM — that’s about where the sexy stuff ends. In tests, Laptop Magazine found the M-7818u to be fast on boot and application launch, but molasses slow when it came to multi-tasking. And, for a everyday consumer’s home notebook, with internet browsing and music needed at the same time, multitasking is a necessity. With the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, don’t expect fast, current gameplay either. Sorry. So, if it’s not good at multi-tasking or gameplay, why woulnd’t … Continue reading →
a

The LaptopPimp sees a lot of laptops, but rarely does he drool over one like this! HP unveiled the Touchsmart TX2 this morning, and boy am I excited to see what the first-ever consumer multi-touch tablet has to offer, other than the obvious presure it puts on the PC and Mac laptop market. Starting around $1,150, the TX2 is a trend setter for sure. Not only does the multi-touch display offer a tablet orientation, you can use any number of the movements we have been craving since Minority Report featured Tom Cruse soving crime with hand gestures. That means dragging, resizing, pinching, selecting, flicking and double taping — all with your fingers! So put some gloves on, it’s cold out there and you’re going to need those fingertips. The gestures will work with the built-in Windows Vista environment, as well as with HP’s Mediasmart software, which will transform the TX2 into a home entertainment system. (Mediasmart is adding MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon programing this year.) Weiging in at 4.5 pounds, HP packed one hell of a system into the bottom half of the TX2. The high-end guts include a 2.4GHZ AMD Turion X2 processor, 8 GB of RAM, a … Continue reading →
a

The new Asus N10Jc is a netbook. But, it’s unlike any netbook Asus has pumped out before. That’s because while it might be a $650 laptop with some pretty basic specs, there are a few ges hidden in the spec list that make it stand out. First, the N10Jc ships with a 6-cell battery, a nice option for netbook users who want to get off the couch and away from the power plug. Plus, little improvements like a 95% keyboard and a full set of ports are nice additions. Of course, this comes with a weight boost. But keeping withing the three ound target with 3.5 pounds is okay by me. That extra half a pound translates directly to battery life. Overall, PC Magazine was really impressed with the N10Jc, saying that for the price, it can’t really be beat in the netbook catagory: The line between netbooks and mainstream laptops blurs every time ASUS launches a new netbook. The N10Jc-A1 has some features worthy of an ultraportable: the six-cell battery, switching graphics, a fingerprint reader, and an HDMI port aren’t the usual netbook fare, and its slightly higher price is justified because of these additional features.
As promised, today I’d like you to meet the Dell Studio 15 laptop, the latest offering from Dell. Jumping on the color bandwagon roughly half a decade years after Mac started the whole trend, Dell’s colorful lineup of Studio machines are nice to look at, but do they have the specs to stand up against the MacBook and all the great home media center options from otehr PC makers like Samsung? Well, let’s take a look. Starting between $599 and $849, the bare-bones system won’t quite cut it. For starters, the low end Studio 15′s ship with 6-cell batteries, and these days the demand for power makes me want to start with a 9-cell battery right off the bat. Plus, the 2 GHz processor speed is worth the couple hundred dollars. As soon as you start to customize, you’ll learn that to add color, you’re going to need to fork out $25 for a color and $75 for a design. And while color is nice, to make users pay for it seems a little silly. If there is only one color difference, like the black or white option, I can understand it. But if you are going to offer a … Continue reading →
a

We took a look at the Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402 the other day, so I figured comparing the new Toshiba Satellite M305-S4835 specs might be appropriate. The M305, which runs about $1,050, is almost identical to it’s Best Buy cousin. However, the M305 is set up to be a little more powerful at home. Primarily, the M305 can be used as a home media center, with a nice display size and a reasonable processor setup. From what I can gather though, the M305 is two things; sort of standard and really adequate. And that’s great, right? For a smidgen over $1,000, you should expect a standard, adequate laptop. No frills here, but nothing huge missing, either. And while it’s sorting specs comparable with the more expensive MacBook, PC Magazine seemed unimpressed with the M305 in speed tests, making me wonder if there are better Mac beaters out there. Probably. The specs: Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 Processor Speed: 2 GHz RAM: 4 GB Weight: 5.5 lbs.
Comparable in a number of ways to the Lenovo ThinkPad SL300, the Samsung Q310 happens to some up a little short in the realm of business notebooks. First, a straight specs to price comparison between the two notebooks shows more power in the SL300 for less price. The $1,200 – $1,300 Q310 holds up when it comes to basic performance, sure. And the battery life is solid, if not spectacular like the SL300. Overall, it comes down to a direct price and spec comparison. While the Q310 won;t let you down on performance, it wont beat out the SL300 either. And while graphics may not be the most important option when it comes to business, Samsung offers no upgrade to the built-in Intel graphics setup. So, when other 13″ laptops with the same, or better, specs (the SL300) exist. Why go this way? the same thing could be said of other comparable laptops. If you really want to spend the extra couple hundred, why not get the extra features that are hot right now? If you are dropping $1,300, your keyboard better be backlit, for example. My advice, save the money and go with the Lenovo. What do you think? … Continue reading →
a

A small step up from Dell in the low-price notebook market, Gateway has always been able to pack their laptops with some pretty decent specs. The Gateway MC-7803u is no exception. Hitting the street at $1000, the MC-7803u is a well designed, nice looking desktop replacement. With it’s Intel Duo T5800 and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics set, it should be able to handle all you everyday home office and internet needs, as well as some basic gaming and editing. And while the MC-7803u isn’t blowing anyone away, it’s getting some good marks on the net. PC Magazine said the following in their review: Gateway has a long history of delivering powerful products at competitive prices, yet for the most part, design has been missing from its repertoire. Now Gateway has that, too—and at a good time, as the MC7803u now sits on retail shelves competing to catch the consumer’s eye. Overall, it’s a very handsome and decent-performing 16-inch laptop at a price that will make any frugal shopper happy. Laptop Magazine dinged the MC for missing a few little things, such as a blu-ray player, saying: The touch-sensitive controls aren’t for everyone, and it’s a tad bulky, … Continue reading →
a

We covered the early reviews and rumors surrounding the Samsung X460, and it seems that today is the day the full reviews are starting to drop. There has been a lot of hype over this machine, so I’ve been excited to see what people are going to say about the pleasure box. So far, it seems good, with a few dissenters. In their full review, the gang at Laptop Magazine gave the X460 four stars and an editor’s choice award, saying: [T]his machine provides a good one-two punch of performance and battery life. We wish the nine-cell battery option cost less, and that Samsung offered integrated mobile broadband connectivity. Also keep in mind that you can’t configure this system to order; what you see is what you get. But overall the X460-44P is one of our favorite thin-and-light notebooks. Crunch Gear was less impressed, finding fault with the display setup: Samsung had me hooked until I saw that the big LCD only pushes out 1280 x 800 pixels, which, to me, defeats the purpose of having a screen that big. I may be in my late twenties but I can still see just fine. The specs again, in case you … Continue reading →
a

Sorry about the picture, but it seems for all the rage being created about the Acer Aspire 8930G, there are very few quality pictures of the high-end gaming machine out there. But, there is a lot of information and buzz about the specs, and a lot of people are talking about the 8930G’s gaming setup. Not only does the 8930 feature a super fast 7,200 rpm hard drive, the GForce 9700 GT graphics setup, 5.1 sound support and 18.4″ HD display make this case a bundle of gaming goodies. And at $1,699, the 8930G is reasonable in price without suffering on specs. Laptop Mag was impressed giving the 8930G four out of five stars, saying: The system’s powerful processor, improved graphics muscle, and striking design makes it one of the best desktop replacements around. There seems to be more good than bad about the 8930. There are a few complaints about the trackpad, but when is that news when it comes to notebooks? If you game with an Acer, let me know what you think in the comments.
The next laptop in a long line of Dell business machines, the Dell Latitude E6400 is getting some pretty good reviews around the net. For a starting price of $1,888, the E6400 comes with some pretty powerful business specs. The 5.6 pound weight is mostly from the 9-cell battery that provides better life on long flights, so the extra weight is acceptable. The Intel Core 2 Duo processor is enough to run even the most invasive business programs, and PC Magazine seems pretty impressed with the overall speed of the setup. As far as business notebooks go, you are probably looking for reliable speed and solid battery life. For under $2,000, it’s going to be hard to find a setup better than Dell’s. But, you know. It’s a Dell. The specs, as it were: Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Business Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P9500 Processor Speed: 2.53 GHz RAM: 2 GB Weight: 5.6 lbs.
Lenovo’s latest update on its U series IdeaPads is another addition to a line of notebooks that is advanced beyond everyday computing. The slightly heavy, at 4.4 lbs., IdeaPad U330 offers a number of Lenovo staples like facial recognition and touch sensitive controls. Taking a cue from Apple, the Ideapad builds on a number of feature popular with Mac users and combines them with some high-end specs that are sure to please the average business or pleasure laptop user. With a $1,199 price tag, the U330 packs a punch supported by the P7350 Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2 GHz. With 2 GB of built-in RAM, that means a fast laptop that can handle everything the Net can trhow it’s way. Beyond that, the graphic card options, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450, which allows for a bit of gaming and high-end display work, and the Intel GMA 4500MHD, which allows for battery-saving, offer a great setup. Even with that graphics switching, the U330 has some reported battery-life problems. But, for light work use, this semi-ultra-portable is a good bet. Both Laptop Magazine and Notebook Review give the U330 high marks for being what it is at a … Continue reading →
a

The folks over at Gizmodo have posted on this interesting and, absolutely illegal, new MacBook Nano. That’s right, it’s not a apple product, but it sure looks like one. I’m sure these won’t be on the market long at all, not if Steve Jobs has anything to say about it. The MSI U100 MacBook Nano is a lovely little knock off, with a great Mac design and a lot of good specs packed in to the case. Don;t ask wher to buy one, though. Because I have no idea where to find a black market Mac. The black market, I suppose. The photos and specs come from a Flickr account, and you can see the whole spread at Mickphoto’s page. Apparently, this fake machine comes in wither black or white to keep with Apple’s standards. (ha ha) The laptop comes loaded with both Windows XP and OSX Lepoard. (Even fakers dont like Vista.) So, while you are waiting for the new, real MacBook nano, check out the fake one for a while. Please let me know what you think about this box in hte comments. I have a feeling Mac addicts will scream “faker,” while PC lovers might like to … Continue reading →
a

The Fujitsu LifeBook U820 is probably a dying breed. The handheld PC is really handheld these days. Blackberrys, iPhones and PDAs can all run full operating systems and compete with laptops as on-the-go devices. But for now, Fujitsu is going to keep moving with the handheld PC market. These days, $1,199 will get you a tablet-style U820 with specs on par with a number of truly handheld devices. Unfortunately, most agree with the PC Magazine review, saying that the day for handheld PCs is over. As pointed out by Gadget Venue, the small display is a pretty big con for the tiny tablet. There are some strong points to the U820, especially the novelty of the device itself. The stylus-sensitive tablet is a slick looking frame, and the up-to-date specs make it competitive with a number of low-price Dell notebooks.
