First look at the 11.6 inch MacBook

It seems that the rumours were true and Apple has finally decided to enter netbook territory with the launch last night of the new MacBook. As you can imagine details are very thin on the ground at the moment, but we know that, this is a very desirable piece of kit. UPDATE! It seems that the Apple MacBook will have the same one piece aluminium case, which is only 0.68 inches at its thickest and a mere 0.11 inches at the tampered end. There are two USB ports, but HELLO! There is no SD card slot! As you can see from the image the keyboard is not backlit, no 3G wireless, no Ethernet port and no dedicated HDMI or VGA outputs either! More to follow in due course. It is believed the latest MacBook due to be announced by Apple will be smaller and lighter than anything we have seen and it will be running an older version of Intel’s core processor. This smaller, lighter and less expensive MacBook points to the fact that Apple are not in the netbook market, but with rumours that a MacBook just like what we have been describing all ready running off the production lines in Taiwan.
