It was only last when the Alienware M11x laptop was first launched with an $800 price tag, this was a cool gamer’s machine, but now it has been updated and has $200 added to the base price! An eighteen inch laptop from Alienware would be something and although there is some evidence that Dell could be thinking about producing such an addition to the Alienware range of computers, according to the firm, they are not. Therefore, the evidence is that on the image below the model number M18x turned up, this would naturally mean that the firm have a model number and therefore must have a plan for the machine. As soon as you hear the name Alienware, you automatically think of performance and that is understandable as for a long time we have been under the impression that an Alienware laptop is one of the top branded machines that is fully capable of out performing some high end desktop PC’s. But it seems that there may be an issue with the Alienware M17X, this is where the graphics processing unit or GPU is for some unknown reason using up more juice than it is supposed to, in fact in some case more than the actual computer is able to deliver, which is going to be major problem is left unchecked! Is Alienware still a real brand? Some folks think that they are just a Dell with a flashy casing. However, whatever the case is they do now come along with the great Intel Core i7 mobile processor providing super fast speed, well the Alienware M15X does. At least Alienware users can now quote that when faced with the question of is it a Dell or is it a separate machine although, it would be interesting to gauge what people think about the Dell Vs Alienware question! Alienware launches their Area 51 m17x 17-inch laptop. Well, I am a big fan of 17-inch laptops even though there is the mini-laptop kraze in the air. The freakin’ laptop comes with a NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800M GTX with up to 1GB of dedicated graphics memory , which makes my mouth water. Of course, performace does come at price and you will be seeing at least $5,000 before you can experience ultimate gaming experience. The Verdict This is a fully customizable laptop so it can be a good desktop-substitute laptop for all your computing needs. But don’t buy it if you need a portable laptop, I doubt the battery will last with all the power consumption.
