Rumours are great, they make everyone think about stuff in a different way that is until it falls down and then it is a big let down for everyone. Anyway, the rumour mill is at work again and this time the word is that Apple has a tablet in the works and it is going to be released in October. It is a cool looking thing if is real, of course there are a few mock ups but that does not mean anything. Fortunately, October is not that far away and obviously there will be some leaks before the date comes around. As for the rumours, another one is that the Apple Tablet will cost around $800!
Rumours are going around that Apple are considering the launch an entry level MacBook with a price tag around $300 off the current price. However, unlike a normal price cut where features are taken away in order for the firm to make a profit on a lower costing machine, the new MacBook will have a full complement of features. The entry level computer will be priced between $1,300 and $1,500 depending on specifications, however there has not been any word as to the size of this machine, could this be the netbook that Apple fans have been waiting for or will slot in somewhere else in the range. By the way, this Mac Book is prank thought up by the Onion, which is cool! Source [Waleg] [Gallery] a Apple Laptops, computer operations, imagination, keyboard, mac book, Mac Rumors, MacBooks, new mac, onion, wheel
a

The word is that this is going to expensive and if they say that now then when it launched to price is definitely going to be high. Looks like the build has over 100 fixes, but Apple is still asking for input concerning Mail. Ars said: Apple is asking developers to bang on MobileMe’s automatic syncing feature with portable Macs and on networks with medium-to-high latency or constrained bandwidth. Apple wants to hear from developers who work behind firewalls and corporate proxies, and it’s also interested in hearing if changes sync between Macs and the MobileMe website within “a reasonable amount of time” when automatic syncing is turned on.
cNet reported Dell announced the Inspiron Mini 9 will rival HP’s Mini 1000 by adding 3G network support. Dell’s Mini 9 are now shipping with the built-in wireless network made famous by the iPhone. Mac rumors are all over the place, with a number of sources, including ComputerWorld, reporting that Apple might be releasing a netbook in 2009. So far, analysts are saying Mac will never make a low-cost netbook. But there might be some sort of “entry-level notebook” on the way. cNet is also wondering if Blu-Ray drives are worth the time and money in laptops with smaller displays. Sure, a nice high-def player on a 17-inch display is great. But on an 11-inch display? What’s the point Thanks for reading today.
The rumor mill is churning over a Ars Technia post claiming that the new aluminum MacBooks will be using HDCP copy protection. According to the Ars folks: When my friend John, a high school teacher, attempted to play Hellboy 2 on his classroom’s projector with a new aluminum MacBook over lunch, he was denied by the error you see above. John’s using a Mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter, plugged into a Sanyo projector that is part of his room’s Promethean system. Strangely, only some iTunes Store movies appear to be HDCP-aware, as other purchased media like Stargate: Continuum and Heroes season 2 play through the projector just fine. Attempts to play Hellboy 2 or other HDCPed films through the projector via QuickTime also get denied. Other movies that don’t work include newer films like Iron Man, Star Wars: Clone Wars, and Love Guru, but older films like Shawshank Redemption are restricted as well. Looks like Apple DRM is getting in the way of justifiable fair use once again. While I love my Mac, sometimes Apple makes the little guy get in my way more than help. What do you guys think about this DRM hurdle? a drm, Mac Rumors, macbook, MacBooks
a

Seeing that I’m a big Apple fan, I’m curious to see if the latest MacBook Air rumors turn out the be true. Apple Insider has it that the next line of MacBook Air laptops will switch from an aluminum case to a new carbon fiber setup to cut the weight of the worlds thinnest laptop down to under three pounds! The new carbon fiber would be used on the bottom of the laptop. What’s carbon fiber, well just what it sounds like, according to Apple Insider: Carbon fiber is an extremely lightweight material comprised of very thin fibers about 0.005–0.010 millimeters in diameter and composed mostly of carbon atoms. The atoms bond together in microscopic crystals that are aligned parallel to the long axis of the fiber and can thus be used to form exceptionally strong composites without requiring more material. Sounds great, but does the Air need to loose weight? Right now, the notebook sits right above three pounds, and the fiber case is rumored to lower that weight to 2.78 pounds? Is that small of a weight loss really needed? Will anyone notice? Will it affect the price? And that there, my friends, is the kicker.
The folks over at Gizmodo have posted on this interesting and, absolutely illegal, new MacBook Nano. That’s right, it’s not a apple product, but it sure looks like one. I’m sure these won’t be on the market long at all, not if Steve Jobs has anything to say about it. The MSI U100 MacBook Nano is a lovely little knock off, with a great Mac design and a lot of good specs packed in to the case. Don;t ask wher to buy one, though. Because I have no idea where to find a black market Mac. The black market, I suppose. The photos and specs come from a Flickr account, and you can see the whole spread at Mickphoto’s page. Apparently, this fake machine comes in wither black or white to keep with Apple’s standards. (ha ha) The laptop comes loaded with both Windows XP and OSX Lepoard. (Even fakers dont like Vista.) So, while you are waiting for the new, real MacBook nano, check out the fake one for a while. Please let me know what you think about this box in hte comments. I have a feeling Mac addicts will scream “faker,” while PC lovers might like to … Continue reading →
a

Here’s a video of how new MacBooks are constructed from one single sheet of aluminum, no separate parts needed. Download latest version of Flash to view video!.
Here’s a cool video of what the MacTablet would look like. Basically, it’d be your laptop/desktop all-in-one with touchscreen ability. I’ve worked with the Popular Mechanics design team to create the “MacBook Plus” computer of my dreams. It takes Apple’s current technology, interface and design language—from iPhone to the latest Mac laptops—and uses them in a totally new hardware format. I’m guessing it would be pricey at, say, $3000, but that’s only $200 more than the current top-of-the-line MacBook Pro, and I suspect Apple fanboys would cough up that kind of cash for something this slick via popularmechanics a apple, current technology, design language, dreams, fanboys, iphone, Laptop Design, Laptop News, mac laptops, Mac Rumors, Mac Rumors, macbook, MacBooks, new hardware, popular mechanics, popularmechanics, slick, technology interface, top of the line
a
