Laptop Deal – $99 Acer Asprie One at Radio Shack

I mentioned last week that Radio Shack will be offering a $99 Acer Aspire One netbook, and I have some more info for you this morning.

As it turns out, AT&T is sponsoring the deal, which comes with a 2-year contract with the wireless company for a 3G subscription that costs $60 a month. So, you save a couple hundred buck for the Acer, but you get stuck in a contract situation with AT&T.

So, is it really a deal? Not in my opinion. The reduced price is nice, but don;t get fooled into a contract to save a hundred bucks or so.

Slash Gear has a post on a hack that allows you to get an MSI Wind fully operational with OSX. This little hack makes the Wind the cheapest Mac out there, and with Apple still on the fence about their netbook plans, you might want to scoop up a Wind and get OSX-ing.

This looks like a pretty simple, straightforward hack.
