Toshiba launches the Portege M780

Toshiba have launched their Portage M780 touchscreen netbook that uses either the Intel Core i3 or the i5 and it is quite a decent machine that will take a lot of beating from the competition.

Unfortunately the Portage M780 has been launched in Africa, Europe and in the Middle East, so Toshiba fans in Asia and the US are going to have to wait a little bit longer.

There is a little bit of controversy surrounding this machine, as some people may remember as being the CrunchPad, but whatever the reason for what happened to the CrunchPad, Fusion Garage are still going ahead and are planning to launch the JooJoo sometime during this month.

Battery issues for Windows 7

Following complaints from netbook users that after installing Windows 7 they were experiencing serious battery life issues, Microsoft have announced that they are looking in to the problem.

The issues vary from user to user, but basically what happens is the user installs Windows 7, then they get a message saying that their battery is failing or failed and that they should consider replacing it!

Surprisingly this is not a new issue as it started almost immediately after the release candidate was made available to users.
