I wouldn’t get one right now until they start selling with Windows XP at the least.

Daewoo’s Lukid is OLPC for Korea!

Looks like automobile manufacturer Daewoo is jumping in the kid’s laptop market with its Lukid laptop, looks very similar to the OLPC laptop.

On the downside, the Lukid is going to cost around $500 USD so don’t see it selling anywhere other than Korea anytime soon.

Here’s some screenshots of the red OLPC, pretty much same thing made for developers of OLPC.

Wilson caught this limited edition Red OLPC at the company’s headquarters near MIT’s campus in Cambridge today. The limited edition run of 100 is made for developers working on the dual boot Sugar Linux and Windows XP system, and has specs identical to the regular OLPC, except 2GB of RAM 2GB flash memory—the minimum required for Windows.
